Moved by Draupadi’s humiliation, Dhritarashtra decides to return the kingdom to the Pandavas. But Duryodhan refuses to accept this. On Shakuni’s advice, Dhritarashtra declares that the Pandavas must go into exile for twelve years, followed by one year of living in disguise. With heavy hearts yet unbroken spirit, the Pandavas accept their fate. Before leaving, they vow that upon their return, the greatest war in history shall take place.
